What's better than catching up with friends? Getting an awesome smoothie and having a walk and talk sesh! Exercise, fresh air, social time, and delicious smoothies - YES to all of that!
I spend a lot of time out and about. I do most of my errands and catching up with friends by walking around (really frickin fast walking around!) when the weather is good enough, so I'm always on the look out for good coffee, smoothies juices and food that is both quick and healthy.
I've been spending a lot of time at Tank lately as they have really upped their game with plant based options. They now have a Raw Plant Goodness menu which includes juices, smoothies soups and salads (all my favorite foods YUS!) The Power Plant smoothie and Rawsome Greens smoothie are my faves for when I'm out. I often ask for extra protein or greens powders to crank up the nutrient value or add a shot of wheatgrass.
I had always assumed that Tank was just a some chain store, but was stoked to find out that they're actually locally owned by two brothers. They also aim to source their produce as locally and ethically as they can and have made some changes to make their packaging more sustainable. Its pretty cool to get to know your local businesses and who you are supporting.
My favorite salad is the Wild Child (pictured below) which is 100% plant based, with antioxidant salad mix, quinoa, black rice, coconut threads, cranberries, almonds, sunflower seeds, and a maple tahini dressing. You can fully customise any of the salads though, which I often do because I don't eat meat or dairy. You can also turn any salad into a wrap.
Here are the grab and go options, almost all of which were vege - chia puddings, the 4 soup options (which are being phased out going into summer but will be back in April), cold pressed juices, and not pictured here several salad options with the dressings separate so they don't go soggy. The cold pressed green juice is quite low in fruit which is great for me as I'm hypoglycemic and I find a lot of juices spike my blood sugar.
Tank are all over NZ which is great when you're traveling and want healthy food. You can check out the whole menu & find your closest location here or go to their Facebook page for exclusive offers and news
